  • The Fendrick Library is partnering with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to bring free books to children 0-4 year olds in the 17236-zip code. Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a free book gifting program that sends a free book each month by mail to children from birth until age 5. Interested? Register your child/children online now at imaginationlibrary.com/ or stop into The Fendrick Library to register in person, or mail in options also available online.   • The Fendrick Book Groupmeets monthly for lively discussions, creative thinking and continued learning with friends. Information about each book and meeting is posted on the library’s Calendar of Events or click the following link for a schedule of books and meetings https://fendricklibrary.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Book-Group-Schedule-2023-2024.pdf. Please contact the library for more information about joining the Book Group.  Meeting locations may vary each month.
  • Historic Mercersburg Walking ToursDo you know your town’s history? Meet at the Fendrick Library for a free tour, all ages are welcome! The tours are presented by Mercersburg Historical Society. No registration needed.
  • Fendrick Library Used Book Sale held annually during the Mercersburg Townfest and Springfest!- Rain or Shine 9 AM- 3 PM, browse a huge used book selection indoors at the Fendrick Library! All books at the sale are donated by generous community members! Great prices and many genres to choose from: biographies, novels, classic literature, cookbooks, children’s, young adult, health, recreation, religion, history, FREE Magazines and much more! All proceeds benefit the Fendrick Library, thank you for your continued support!
  • Weekly Preschool Storytime August 30, 2023 – May 29, 2024. Our Preschool Storytime group will meet at the library each Wednesday morning at 10:30 am, open to the community. Preschool Storytime is for children Pre-K and their caregivers. Each week we will share stories, make crafts, enjoy snacks, play and meet new friends!   • Online Storytime available now! Craft kits are available at the library to grab-and-go. To participate at home, click here to access online stories, songs and craft instructions.
  • Art Classes with Nancy Walker and Jef Savage. Please check our online calendar of events for more details.
  • Crochet Classes meet Wednesdays at 6:00 pm-8:00 pm. Join us for a fun, relaxing evening learning the age-old craft of crochet!  Classes will continue weekly, schedule is posted on the library calendar. For more information and fees call: 717-860-4817
  • Health Talks hosted by Martha Swope, RN Mobile Psychiatric Nurse for Franklin and Fulton Counties Education Training & Consultations. Check the Calendar of Events for more details.
  • Block Party for all ages! Meet friends at the library for a block party!  All ages are welcome to join in this open-ended block building activity.  At each stage of growth children develop new creative ways to play with blocks! Block play is a fun creative way to teach skills: 
    Physical- gross & fine motor skills, strength, coordination
    Social- communicate, share, cooperate
    Cognitive- problem solving, size relationships, patterns
    Language- names of colors, shapes, discuss structures
