- The Fendrick Library is partnering with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to bring free books to children, 0-4 year olds, residing in the zip code 17236 or 17224. Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a free book gifting program that sends a free book each month by mail to children from birth until age 5. Interested? Register your child/children online now at imaginationlibrary.com/ or stop into The Fendrick Library to register in person, or mail in options also available online. - The Fendrick Book Group meets eachmonth for lively discussions, creative thinking and continued learning with friends. Please contact the library for more information about joining the Book Group. Meeting locations may vary each month.
- Lecture Series-Historic and informational presentations featuring various local speakers on a variety of interesting topics. Come listen, ask questions, or add to the conversation! Please check the library’s Calendar of Events for monthly events or call the library for more information.
- Chess for All Ages Monday Evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 pm!Neil Coleman welcomes all skill levels; he will help novices learn the rules of this fascinating game. If you have a game board and pieces or chess books that are collecting dust, please donate them to the library for our friends to use. Or better yet — bring them in to play and join the fun!
- Historic Mercersburg Walking Tours FREE, July and September-Do you know your town’s history? Meet at the Fendrick Library for a free tour, all ages are welcome! The tours are presented by Mercersburg Historical Society. No registration needed. Please check the library calendar for more information.
- Fendrick Library Used Book Sale May & September- held annually during the Mercersburg Townfest and Springfest!- Rain or Shine 9 AM- 3 PM, browse a huge used book selection indoors at the Fendrick Library! All books at the sale are donated by generous community members! Great prices and many genres to choose from: biographies, novels, classic literature, cookbooks, children’s, young adult, health, recreation, religion, history, FREE Magazines and much more! - Weekly Preschool Storytime Our Preschool Storytime group will meet at the library each Wednesday morning at 10:30 am, open to the community. Preschool Storytime is for children Pre-K and their caregivers. Each week we will share stories, make crafts, enjoy snacks, play and meet new friends!
